Transition Assistance Program
"TAP" Into Success
The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) is a free 3-day workshop where you will get the necessary skills needed to be competitive in today's job market.
Learn new skills or brush up on old ones from resume writing, effective job search strategies and interviewing techniques! It also includes valuable information on how to get jobs in both government and private sectors.
All workshops held at USAG Brussels ACS, top floor of Bldg 4, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and EFMP accessible.
The 2009 schedule is as follows:
May 12 to 14, August 11 to 13, and November 17 to 19.

Mission Statement
Support patriotic objectives and promote programs developed to advance them.
Associate with and support the US active duty military community and, when appropriate, activities of the retiree organizations of the Belgian Armed Forces.
Promote the welfare of the US service retirees and widows/widowers of retired service members in Belgium
Promote fraternal and social bonds among members of the Association.
Our Activities
Quarterly luncheons or dinners, usually alternating between the Brussels and Mons/Chievres areas.
Publish a periodic newsletter: The American Patriot.
Commemorate Memorial Day at US military cemeteries in Belgium with wreaths; likewise at Bastogne memorial ceremonies and others. Contribute funds to American Overseas Memorial Day Association.
Provide scholarships for outstanding graduates of SHAPE American School and Brussels American School (BAS).
Provide funds for awards for SHAPE American AFROTC cadets.
Provide Christmas gifts for orphanages supported by US Army Garrison Benelux.
Provide occasional briefings or discussions on issues of retiree interest, as TRICARE or long-term care programs.
Arrange occasional local tours of interest to retires, such as Fort Eben-Emael or Ypres battlefields.
In coordination with the military command’s Retirement Services Officer, provide support to members of the retiree community in need.

Retired members (all ranks) of US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines Corps or Coast Guard.
Widows/widowers of active or retired members of US armed forces.
Active duty members of US armed forces with more than 18 years of service creditable for retirement.
ASSOCIATE: Persons who would otherwise qualify for regular membership but…
Do not reside in Belgium.
Although resident of Belgiumand having completed 20 years or more years service creditable toward military retirement from the reserves of US forces, have not yet reached retirement age of 60.
