Commander's Biography

LTC Francesca "Ox" Ziemba graduated from the United States Military Academy and was commissioned as a Military Intelligence officer in 1991.
She has been assigned to Japan (500th Military Intelligence Brigade), Honduras (Joint Task Force Bravo), three times in the Republic of Korea (2nd Infantry Division and Eighth U.S. Army), Hawaii (25th Infantry Division), Princeton University (Army ROTC Battalion), Fort Drum (10th Mountain Division), Fort Polk (Joint Readiness Training Center) and most recently at Fort Huachuca (United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence).
LTC Ziemba commanded A Company, 102nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea in 1998-1999.
She has deployed twice to Operation Enduring Freedom, including Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, with the 10th Mountain Division from 2001-2002 and the Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan from 2008-2009.
LTC Ziemba holds a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the Command and General Staff College.
Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, the Air Assault Badge and the Parachutist Badge.
