LTC Darin Conkright has had a number of duty assignments at Fort Bragg, Fort Campbell, Washington DC, and in Europe. While at Fort Campbell, LTC Conkright was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he commanded ODA 522 and served as the Battalion Assistant S-3. In Washington DC, he served as an assignments officer in the US Army PERSCOM’s Special Management Division. At Fort Bragg, LTC Conkright commanded B Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and also served as the Battalion and Group S-3 in multiple tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. In Europe, LTC Conkright served as a Future Operations Officer in Special Operations Command – Europe (Airborne), the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe and 7th Army and currently is the Garrison Commander of U.S. Army Garrison Brussels.
LTC Conkright entered the Army in 1989, receiving an ROTC commission and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky. Advanced education includes a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters in Healthcare Management from TUI University.
LTC Conkright is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and his awards include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (w/5 Oak leaf clusters), the Joint Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal (w/1 Oak leaf cluster).
His badges include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Special Forces Tab, the Ranger Tab, and Master Parachutist Badge.
LTC Conkright has been married for 18 years, and has two sons.
